Gentlemen,

We had an unfortunate situation during the Fall 2022 Leather ball league involving a player from It’s time for Cricket(ITC) team playing for Demons team. One of the players that played for the Demons team in the game against Tek Leaders Renegades team in Div B leather league on 8/6/2022 morning at 7.30 AM game also played a game for It’s time for Cricket(ITC) against Dallas Hawks team in their Div E leather league game on the same day 4.30 PM game. The player involved later continued playing for It’s time for Cricket(ITC) team in the Fall League as he played for It’s time for Cricket(ITC) in the past season, again tried to play for Demons team against Dallas Prime XI on 11/03/2022 but sent off the field once Dallas PrimeXI identified him. DCL rules and bylaws strictly prohibit players from playing for more than one team in the same tournament. Hence, the following decisions/actions have been taken by the DCL Management.

1. Since the player in question played for the Demons team first and later played for the It’s time for Cricket(ITC) team on the same day, as far as the Demons team is concerned there is no player rule violation in trying to play this player in the match vs Dallas Prime XI, so the match result will stay the same and no further action needed.

2. Effect immediately, Venkata Rami Reddy Vanukuri the player that played for Demons as well as It’s time for Cricket(ITC) teams has been suspended from playing for the next 4 games for It’s time for Cricket(ITC) team.

3. Raghuramprasad Kottur, the captain of the It’s time for Cricket(ITC) team, is suspended for 1  game during this 2022 Fall Div E leather ball league. He will need to sit out the next game of the team. He should have been a role model and should have immediately brought this to DCL Management's attention.

4. Jagan Uppara, the captain of the Demons team, is suspended for 2  games. He will need to sit out the next 2 games of the team. He should have been a role model and should have immediately brought this to DCL Management's attention but instead knowingly allowed other team’s regular player to play for his team for a few matches.

5. Srikanth Sama, a senior player of the Demons team is suspended for 1 game. He will need to sit out the next game of the team. Knowingly encouraged other team’s regular player to play in his team for a few matches.

6. The Demons team is also warned to update players on Chauka with proper names and the DCL website properly and not to use different names for any player.

Every team is requested to update the correct player name on both Chauka and DCL Websites to help DCL.

The DCL management understands that this may not be an intentional act by the It’s time for Cricket(ITC) captain and may not have been expected from his most senior player in the team; however, it’s the captain’s responsibility to do the necessary due diligence and to remind team members to make sure the team understands and follows the DCL Rules and bylaws.
If the Captain or the Vice Captain is not sure about any player who plays in DCL/DLCL they can always send an email to dclmgmt@gmail.com and ask them to check the DCL/DLCL database to find out about the player details. We hope that this will serve as a deterrent to all the teams and the players to indulge in such activities. DCL Management will not hesitate to take harsher actions to curb such activities by players and captains in order to make the DCL community stronger.
